Love this valance, could you tell me the name and manufacturer of this fabric. Can this valance be ordered from you?

  • Susan DorbeckMarch 20, 2014 - 5:13 pm

I agree this fabric is gorgeous but alas it was purchased by my client in India while traveling. It is a silk and is reversible with the negative print on the other side. Made up into a Sheffield valance was the perfect treatment for this silk. You have great taste.

swags with rosettesA nice soft treatment to cover up the top of the blinds

    Do you sell just rosettes?

  • Susan DorbeckOctober 4, 2013 - 8:17 am

The rosettes are usually a part of the swag. The scarf type swag is all one piece with fabric looped out thru a swag holder then twisted and knotted into a rosette. The can however be made separately and sewn onto pillows, accessories and even window treatments. Feel free to call me or email me direct and we can discuss this further.

Is there something to purchase to make the rosettes

  • Susan DorbeckAugust 16, 2015 - 2:51 pm

Hi Linda, There is no special equipment for making rosettes, just had sewing and patience. You can make them out of a long strip of fabric that you curl and wind around itself hand stitching as you go or you can make a large circle of fabric and push the center of the fabric into itself creating a bud in the middle then securing it with some hand stitching. Would you be able to help with a step by step instruction as to how to make the rosette as part of the swag. In other words, how exactly is the “fabric looped out thu the swag holder and then twisted and knotted…” My swag holder is a loop about 2 inches wide, with a 2-3 inch diameter. Provide or suggest pictures?
    Thanks.

roman shaderoman shadeTwo fabrics were used to create the stripes on this roman shade.
By sewing your own fabric together
you can create any width of stripe you want
as well as choose any color you want.
Stripes are a great pattern for a roman shade since they never get lost in the folds.
