Mixed Company

Is it acceptable to use two different window treatment styles in the same room? The best window treatments should evolve from the need to solve a problem, or simply create something special in a room. The treatments do not have to be the same style if the windows are in the same room. Often the shape and size of the windows should be the first determining factor. As shown in this room, both windows are in a box out frame, however, they are two totally different shapes, so mixing the styles is a perfect solution. The door wall is long and tall and the side by side windows are short forming a window seat. The door wall style is perfect for pinch pleated drapery panels hung with rings from a decorative rod. The smaller side by side windows use two inch horizontal blinds for privacy but is softened by the Roman shades. Using the same checked fabric for the two different window treatments helps to bring the room together visually.
