Featured here is a pair of bedroom windows needing some room darkening. A pleated valance keeps daylight from escaping the top of the windows, wood blinds allow for privacy during the day without closing them off all the way and drapery panels with blackout lining give total darkness when needed. Bright striped banding adds color and interest to the room. A blackout lining is not necessarily black but it can completely block out light. This lining also serves as an insulator keeping the heat or cold out not to mention those drafty windows.
